Determination of the final aerobic biodecomposition capacity of materials under controlled composting conditions - Method for the determination of dilute carbon dioxide - Part 1: General method

(1) Test elements

① Inoculum: urban solid waste compost & activated vermiculite

The ratio of inoculum dry weight to sample dry weight 6:1 or activated vermiculite to sample dry weight 4:1

③ The volume is at least 2L, 3L is recommended, the sample does not exceed 3/4 of the volume, and the top space is left

④ Compost mixture PH7-9,C/N 10-40

⑤ Temperature 58 ± 2 degrees Celsius; Humidity about 50%;

⑥ The oxygen content of the exhaust port is not less than 6%

⑦ Regular vibration to prevent material compaction

(2) Test validity index

① After 45 days, the biodecomposition percentage of the reference material was more than 70%

② At the end of the test, the relative deviation of the biological decomposition percentage of each compost container is not more than 20%

Within 10 days before culture, inoculated products in a blank container produced 50mg CO2/g volatile solids (average) to 150mg CO2/g volatile solids (average).
